Happy anniversary of one week, Its Fun To Be A Girl! We had a great start to this little ministry, with lively comments on blog posts and a few developments regarding where IFTBAG will be offered this fall, somewhere in the vicinity of Austin, Texas.
Also, starting next week, Fine Feathers will be a Wednesday feature. I envision a Mr. Linky Link feature, such as that which my friend, Jen, uses for her 7 Quick Takes Friday posts; that way, all you fabulous and fashionable young women can share photos of your own “papal standards” outfits. Hee hee. Please please humor me, even if you don’t agree entirely with IFTBAG’s proposal about feminine fashion.
We again feature lovely Rachel from Pink Peonies this week, with an elegant outfit. Those Mormons have a great thing going with modest fashion; I would totally be Mormon, if I could live without the Eucharist. Okay, here’s Rachel.
I’m loving the jade necklace.
And, I totally love Drew’s wedding dress…with sleeves! Congratulations, Drew!

You crack me up about being Mormon, but not being able to live without the Eucharist. That woman is gorgeous!
I could add some more dresses/skirts after I get this baby out.
Until then, I’m wearing whatever fits! hahahaha
I like these posts, but I have a question, do we really think that reaching the top of the knee is sufficent? It seems really short to me, particularly the first outfit you showed. When I think of knee-length I think of to the middle of the knee or below.
Nicole C., I totally agree about covering the knees because, frankly, my knees are not the loveliest joints; also, I find that when a skirt just reaches to my knees, it is too short when I sit down.
As for the above outfit, if I were wearing it, I would pair it with a Vintage Hem, such as this beauty here: http://www.vintagehem.com/store/product/0006_Have%2520a%2520Ball%2520%2528Silk%2520White%2529.
Also, for all our DIY readers, Anna at In Honor of Design has a great tutorial on crafting one’s own lace skirt (sans sewing machine): http://inhonorofdesign.blogspot.com/2012/02/diy-no-sew-scallop-edge-lace-skirt.html. Great work, Anna!
I am a big fan of Rachel’s blog and this outfit is one of my recent favorites! Love the neutral pairing with that statement necklace…and thanks for sharing the DIY skirt link too!
Beyond that, I am thrilled to see this website launched! IFTBAG is such an amazing program and I can’t wait to see how God grows this incredible ministry! Prayers for you and this program, dear Friend!
