Live Appearances

Katie and Kendra would love to speak at your event in the Austin area!  They both have extensive experience speaking before teen and young adult gatherings, as well as with parish adult catechesis.  The topics about which they are especially passionate include the following: the theology of the body, the new feminism, fashion and the modesty movement, the Holy Eucharist, pro-life ministry, and the vocations of motherhood and marriage.

Katie’s Bio

Katie Rose is, well, a little nerdy.  She likes to make cheese and to wear vintage dresses.  She keeps bees.  She got her nose pierced in India and prefers tea to wine.  Katie earned her undergraduate BA in Theology from the University of Notre Dame and worked as a pro-life lobbyist, before she became a full-time mother.  She serves as the director of Its Fun To Be A Girl, a parish-based ministry that offers weekend workshops to young women. Katie lives with her family on a farm outside Austin, TX.   Katie is not a details girl, so please pardon her if she forgets your name, and while she happily thinks about solving the world’s problems, she forgets to put gas in the car.  And, she really really really wants you to find your deepest happiness in Jesus.  Glory to God!

Kendra’s Bio

Kendra Bartlett loves a good laugh (of which she gets a lot of because of her husband, Chris), scoring a good bargain, all things crafty, and a competitive game of marbles.  She is a cradle-Catholic from Corpus Christi who owes much of her journey in coming to love the Lord to her high school friends, who were nothing shy of inspiring.  She is a member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of ’05 and a former Fightin’ Texas Aggie Volleyball player.  Her time spent in College Station was a journey of deep formation that includes leaving the Catholic Church due to common misconceptions, only to realize what she had turned her back on and coming home to fullness of Truth.  There, Kendra also found she had a heart for ministering to the youth, which led her to meet the man she had been praying for since she was sixteen, the same man who has been her loving husband for six and a half years.  She currently resides in Pflugerville, TX, and is a full-time mother to three beautiful girls and two precious babies in heaven.  Kendra desires for every person to open their hearts to the love Jesus has for them, that love which is most beautiful, freeing, and unending.

What Others Are Saying

“All I can say is, God led me to your blog.  I have forwarded  your other writings to my two daughters.  I liked your post about using sorrow as a sword.  Also, LOVE all your pictures you use!!!  Praise the Good Lord for you using your gifts to bring to a hurting world.”

“I’m super excited about your program and I’ve really enjoyed reading your posts.  I’ve shared it with the ladies in my Young Adult group and they too are excited.   You’re in my prayers.”

“I subscribed to your blog recently, and have been getting your email updates.  I feel like a bit of a crazy woman, emailing a stranger an article, LOL.  But, since I read all your emails, you don’t feel like a stranger to me! :)  I appreciate the efforts you put in to helping us understand true femininity and encouraging us to be the women God created us to be.  I think I have a long way to go, but I do appreciate your help on the journey!”
